Intro

Some angels are meant to fall.

Becoming nocturnal, we learn to see in the dark. It is here that we find hope, and each other.

Unlike the old guard, these ‘angels’ are only human. Battling mental illness, our demons are our diagnoses, and hell is all in our heads. My mythological poems are not religious. My creed is a universality: hope. Hope for healing, hope for happiness– we even have hope for The Hopeless.

We, The Hopeless, are the new generation of angels: boots on the ground, facing our beautiful brokenness, and breaking bread with our demons.

“To all the fallen,
you’re not alone.
Reach your hand out in the darkness.
I’ll guide you home.”

Ragnarok

You are the wound that never stops bleeding. for you are my heart. I am your safekeeping.
I slept at your grave. crying out your name.
Can’t pray for forgiveness. Too late for innocence. now since Ragnarok. You fell like night, so I buried my God.
Heaven’s bombarded. Religion to smoke. But in the carnage, something awoke.
The pieces of God, in the hearts of his children, rise to the call of a world in revision.
I’ll be hope’s handmaid. Gutting the darkness to sharpen my blade. Your daughter you honor, with your own faith.
You made me stronger to need you no longer, and face Ragnarok. You fell to twilight, to give me my dawn. I miss you, my Father, My Maker. My God.

Heart of a Dragon

I walk slowly out of Tartarus, through the gates of the world under. By the will of Artemis, the hunted became the hunter.
There is no need to look back, at the hell I have walked. I wear my scars and lessons, from demons I have fought.
When I first walked into the fire, I was burned and ashen. Now in my true form, hellfire’s my companion. And with it I forged, the heart of a dragon.
Earth to fire. Fire to air. Elemental magic. But one I couldn’t learn there.
I still feel the heat. I still wear my ash. Kneeling at a stream. Gods, wash me clean of the past.
I give you back the pain. I keep the strength it gave me. I give you back the anger. I keep the motherhood it gave me.
I give you back the hatred, and all my dragon scales. I need no armor. my heart soft as water, which nothing impails.
I’ve no more need for agony. It has done its work for me.
Dripping from the stream, I’ve reclaimed my first skin. The lessons have settled within. I’m more of myself than I’ve ever been.
